Calcium

Calcium is the mineral most represented in the body. Its approximate weight in a human body is 1kg 200g, 99% of which is contained in bones and teeth.

Function

The main slimming effect of calcium concerns the emptying of adipocytes and will be discussed later. However, calcium supplements also perform an accessory function of hindering lipid absorption in the digestive system. It has been found, in this case, that in the context of a calcium-supplemented diet, the amount of lipids in the faeces may be as much as double the normal amount. It should be noted, however, that the amount of fat in the faeces under normal conditions is very low, so even if it is doubled, it is still small.

Negative notes

As a substance that is not foreign to the body and, moreover, belongs to the list of micronutrients, it has no notable side effects.

Form and dosage

Calcium supplements are available in the form of soluble powder or tablets. A calcium intake of at least 1.4g/day is recommended for slimming purposes.
